Tee Shirt Upcycle by MsMuffinPhotography Tee Shirt Upcycle by MsMuffinPhotography
So this was my first time making an upcycled tee shirt! I have really been wanting to try this for a while.
First, I had to find a shirt that I wouldn't mind cutting up. I chose one with a cross on it that I had gotten as a gift years ago, since I don't think it is appropriate for me to go around wearing a cross, as someone who is non-religious.

The shirt was pretty long, which gave me room to make a fringe on the bottom. I added rainbow pony beads to the end by tying them, which took a really long time! I wish I could have put more beads, but I didn't have many left, so I put one on each piece of fringe.

I also cut off the sleeves and collar and did a ladder weave on the front. :) Obviously I am wearing the shirt inside out so that you can no longer see the cross picture. xP

I am pretty happy with the result! I can't wait to do more of this!

I hope you enjoy it! ^_^

That is an amazing transformation! I agree, you should do more of these. Gosh, you could go shopping at thrift stores and things and transform some old stuff into something so hip! That is so neat! "Upcycle" huh? I like the term, kind of a play on recycle I guess. Nice!

Thanks very much! ^_^
I was thinking of going to goodwill and stuff to get extra shirts! I want to combine these techniques with tie-dye too.

A bit of advice for you on the religious iconography. The only people you're going to potentially offend if you wear their symbol are the people you wouldn't want to be around. My policy on that is very loose. I make it a point to show more than one perspective.
Pentagrams, Satanic pentagrams, crosses, St. Peter's Crosses (upside down crosses that Satanists use, completely unaware that the upside down cross is actually a symbol of Christian humility), David's Stars, and Nazi swastikas.
Though with that last one I wouldn't recommend going around wearing a swastika. That's a known health hazard.

As long as you understand the religion I figure that it is okay, and if anyone says otherwise remind them that this is freakin America and they can screw themselves.

Anyhow, the design is lovely. Kinda makes me wanna wear a girly shirt with the cool neckline. I like how it sort of looks like a bird or moth or something with wings. It has a nice flow.

Yeah, but I don't want anyone thinking that I am a Christian, if that makes sense. ^_^ I know that nobody is going to get offended by a person wearing a cross on their shirt. xD THough, I understand about the other symbols that people are just uneducated about.
I think you could pull off a shirt with a v-neck or something, you are pretty... pretty. xD

pffft. I'm pretty sure that most people think I'm an atheist at this point.

Most of the time I do wear lower-cut shirts. The problem with wearing form-fitting clothing is that I apparently have a feminine figure. Some men have cat-called me before.

And thoughtful of you to not use a religious symbol as a fashion symbol.
